Program Requirements
Students can take programs as well as long and short courses as they wish. if they wish to get a Certificate of Satisfactory Completion in one of the Academy Programs, they will need to met the individual program requirements.
The Academy has three certificate programs: Interfaith Minister Program; the Nonprofit Management Program; and the Spiritual Counseling Program. At the completion of each program of study, the Academy will issue the graduating student a Certificate of Satisfactory Completion.
Interfaith Minister Program Requirements
The requirements for the Interfaith Minister Program Certificate of Satisfactory Completion are also set out in Becoming an Interfaith Minister section of this website. At the successful completion of the program, the student will receive the Certificate of Satisfactory Completion of the Interfaith Minister Program and be ordained an Interfaith Minister.
Nonprofit Management Program Requirements
The requirements for the Nonprofit Management Program Certificate of Satisfactory Completion are (1) satisfactory completion of all the core courses and (2) satisfactory completion of five elective courses. The nine core management courses are:

- 3.3.6 Ethics for Nonprofit Organizations
- 3.3.8 Research Methods and Program Evaluation for Nonprofit Organizations
- 3.3.13 Accounting for Nonprofit Organizations
- 3.3.17 Practicum or Internship in Nonprofit Organizations
In addition, the Academy requires each student to successfully complete five of the following elective courses. They are:

- 3.1.9 Constitutional and Basic Laws Relevant to Nonprofit Organizations

Spiritual Counseling Program Requirements
The requirements for the Spiritual Counseling Program Certificate of Satisfactory Completion are (1) satisfactory completion of all the core 100 level courses, (2) satisfactory completion of five elective 200 level courses, (3) satisfactory completion of two elective 300 level courses, and (4) supervised counseling as noted below. The sixteen core 100 spiritual counseling courses are:

The student must select five 200 level elective courses from the following:

- 3.2.200.3 Depression and Anxiety Disorders
- 3.2.200.4 Counseling Families of Substance Abusers
- 3.2.200.5 Couples in Crisis Counseling
- 3.2.200.6 Human Sexuality and Sexual Addictions
- 3.2.200.7 Issues in Aging
- 3.2.200.8 Divorce and Remarriage
- 3.2.200.9 Having a Satisfactory Single Living
- 3.2.200.10 Dealing with Parent / Teen Conflicts
- 3.2.200.11 Dealing with Chronic Disease
The student must select two 300 level elective courses from the following:
- 3.2.300.1 Jungian Psychology
- 3.2.300.2 Transpersonal Psychology and Psycholsynthesis
- 3.2.300.3 Family Systems Theory and Genograms
- 3.2.300.4 Counseling for AIDS and Stigmatizing Diseases
- 3.2.300.5 Counseling Children and Adolescents
- 3.2.300.6 Counseling Those with Terminal Illness
Each student must take 300 hours of supervised counseling with 125 hours of supervision. Of that 45 must be with an AAPC fellow or diplomat. Note that most state licensing bodies require a minimum of 1,000 to 2,000 hours of supervised clinical work, which the student can obtain as practicum or internship (including a residency). In doing this, students can enroll in the following course.
